Think Lab Preview

Place It! founder James Rojas

Our very first Think Lab convenes just two Saturdays from now. Here’s a taste of what to expect:

Pick Our Brains
Join us—project staff, transportation consultants, and all—as together we delve into the nitty gritty of planning the streets of tomorrow. Find out exactly what the Mobility Element is, why we are embarking on this project, and how you can help. Fire away with your questions; we will do our best to answer.

L.A. Today
Learn about the state of our transportation system today. View vivid maps that convey key information about the City’s streets. Discover the layers of citywide transportation data that will be used to inform how we design and assign street designations. Go ahead and play the role of a transportation engineer!

LA/2B
Connect live to LA/2B’s Virtual Town Hall at Think Lab. Or submit ideas in person. Either way, your input will help us create effective policies and programs for the Mobility Element and determine appropriate designations for specific streets.

The Layered Network
Learn about the layered network and help us shape our future street system that designates modal emphasis by street to create a network of Complete Streets. What features should be included in each bicycle, transit, or automobile emphasis network?

LA/2B 2050
Envision your street in 2050. Then work with fellow Angelenos to apply your ideas to a local neighborhood street.  Join renowned participatory planner James Rojas in this highly interactive activity.

We hope to see you there! You can RSVP on Facebook. Address and date after the jump.
